EARLY LEARNING CENTRES

Staff

How to regularly reinforce protective strategies

90 minutes session for staff and managers of Early Learning Centres


Students

The sessions include discussions, role plays and stories.
Topics include:
"Uh-oh feelings" (feeling unsafe)
My body is my own (Privacy and Personal Space)
Secrets and surprises
How to say 'NO' (Practicing assertive statements)
My 'safety' adults (Safety Plan)
Three 30 minute sessions for 3 and 4 year old children.

 

Shuls

The program aims to assist shuls to examine their child protection policies and to examine the decision-making process regarding child protection, and to ensure that all shul staff are clear on the principles of managing a child protection issue.

Topics:

  • Creating a robust, best-practice child protection policy
  • Responding to allegations of sexual assault
  • Defining a set of principles that can be used for managing child protection issues
  • How to manage a disclosure
  • Reporting concerns

Tzedek has also offers secondary consultation to shuls in regards to issues arising out of specific cases; managing a response to a case; and guidance through policy issues.

Education sessions to parents and Protective Behaviours sessions to children can also be delivered through the shuls.

 

Youth Groups

Youth Leaders: This training aims to provide a greater awareness of child abuse focuses on how to recognise and manage the behavioural indicators of sexual abuse in children.

Decisions about vetoing a child from coming to camp

Shnat participants: This training aims to educate shnat attendees and their parents about respectful relationships; the issues of the laws; and how to get support in a foreign country.

This training aims to provide a greater awareness of child abuse and the prevalence of this epidemic within communities.

The training also focuses on how to recognise and manage the behavioural indicators of child abuse in children.
